Hello, I had a RD50M when I was 16 & always regretted getting rid of it, so have now bought another. It’s having a full strip and rebuild during the winter

I had one too back in the day, white/red bought 2nd hand from Ken Green's in Welwyn Garden City.  £340 IIRC.

The fuel tank sprung a leak along the seam not long after purchase and I had to fit a black tank from the MX model.  Looking back I'm sure it was 'clocked'.

I upped the gearbox sprocket by one tooth to squeeze a few extra mph out of it - which was useful downhill more than uphill.  But I remember it managed 2-up going up the ramp to the roof car park of Woolco in Hatfield - happy days.  :)
