Are they too far gone for repair? You can get legs straightened and hard chromed then ground back to size.
Cost around £120 a pair.
No garage is large enough!

Welcome lye.

I did know of a brand new set of original Yamaha ones at a dealer near me (Salisbury), but at £350 they were far, far too expensive. Also, the dealership is closed for the time being.

When I was looking for forks for some of my other bikes, I came across a fleabay seller called Brooks Barn, who did repros. No idea if they are any good or not, though.

As paul n said, are they too far gone for re-chroming?

yambits have them for 250s, I think 250c/d are 34mm. I assumed they are same as 400s but perhaps someone can confirm all this.

if you go rechrome route make sure you get hard chrome

Yes 250c/d use the same forks as 400c/d, 34mm.
I know Norbo (rdlccrazy) sells fork stanchions & I assume they are copies.
Not tried them, as I had mine hard chrome plated as pauln suggested, but I’m sure somebody on here has tried reproduction/copy stanchions & could guide you to which are good or not so good.

Only issue I have now is that I fitted taper roller headstock bearings and the headlight brackets don’t clamp now as the bearings protrude?

I seem to think you have to fit an 'O' ring on there to take up the slack... ;)  don't do what the previous owner of one of my bikes did, he put the bearings in without the outer races... ::)  :D
