rd 200 1 E8 generator bolt??

Hi Fellas, I have just noticed that the long bolt that holds the advance and retard mechanism onto the crank shaft is bent. this explains a lot of questions that I had! it is an M 7 thread I think and its 100mm long, part threaded. does anyone know if this part is still available or where I might get another one ? cheers...

Asked a similar question recently.
There are genuine bolts available from the U.S., but expect to pay at least £15.
Part number  90143-07021-00  is what you need.
According to Fowlers, this part number replaced the original 1E8 part.
I can confirm that the length is the same (4"), but it is threaded slightly longer.

Are we completely mad that we are willing to pay over £15 for a genuine bolt for crying out loud!!  :o

Have you ever tried to get an M7 bolt of any length ? You could prob make one from an m8 if you've access to a lathe & an  m7 die. It's probably been bent in a crash & the casing replaced at some point in its life

I am sure that the OP is sorted now but in case anyone else is struggling and doesn't want to pay £15 for a genuine bolt, BMW part number 07119901683 is a 100mm long M7 bolt - fits fine:-)
Mine was missing and I did struggle to source an M7 bolt that length so this may help someone - just ordered from the local (car) BMW dealers, £1.49.

7mm fasteners are often seen on Euro bikes and cars.
I bought some bolts from a Renault dealer for my Ducati. :)

I sheared off the one on my AT3 (DT125) and googled the part number. There was a new one on ebay. I was lucky.

Do take care. Its a big head and a 7mm thread.

Dont rattle gun it back on - lock the engine up and spanner it by hand to a reasonable torque for 7mm threads.
