New RD250 Performance Piston
« on: April 12, 2016, 02:50:52 AM »
Alright Guys as of today there is finally a drop in true performance piston for the RD250’s and RD250LC’s. After literally months of work with Wossner and a group of top notch two-stroke men from around the globe going back and forth over every possible point imaginable we’ve come up with one great performance piston for the RD250’s and RD250LC’s. I was driven by my own Landspeed RD250 project and an obvious need from RD250 Roadracers globaly so we took the necessary time to give this piston every possible  advantage we could think of.     Ed Erlenbach

Nice work Ed

Does it have any type of friction coating and are over sizes available ? What piston / bore clearances does it run ? Any ideas of cost ? Any pics

Cheers

Guy's, this as Ed says, is a high performance piston .  You can see it is single ring and, I guess it is forged type.  Great to see! :)

Yes they  have an anti friction coating and are forged as mr 5port says they are the best of german engineering made by the best piston company in the world and will be more expensive now we are out of the eurozone. What more can i say ::) I like the colour :) :) :)

who says woosner are the best piston maker in the world as thats a load of boll@cks they make good pistons but to claim they are the best is a bit strong and a piston is only as good as its next hole ;D ah another piston debate bring it on ;)

Maybe i am a bit biased but they are race engineered and still manufactured in germany.Unlike others that i will not mention, that are made in china and other questionable sources. At least you know what you are getting a quality engineered product. 400 pistons are available from custom department keith if you have a fat wallet :o

Alright Guys the proof is in the pudding right? Well I just finished the Landspeed racing season. One set of pistons all season, lot's of "unofficial" testing (I am not endorsing Landspeed bike testing on the street...) and 2 trips to the dyno, still not noisy and I just put in the seasons fastest pass for the bike Saturday at 143.767mph, Highly modified RD250, no fairing, on gas:)    Ed
