Hi Chris,
as the bike was built in a time short after the Franco-system collapsed there were still import and custom restrictions parts and bikes related.
Siroko was a brand of Recmo, one of the biggest parts manufacturers for bikes and cars. For example Bultaco and Sanglas have a lot of Recmo parts on it. Recmo built Brembo parts under official licence.
The wheels on the Siroko are therefore Recmo brand mag wheels. The brakes were original all Recmo. On my bike only the rear caliper is still a Recmo one. The front calipers and master are now genuine Brembos. The ignition was changed from Motoplat to Kroeber inclusive the tacho. These 2 changes were done in the mid 80tees in Germany.
Well, the 2 tank Monocoque I figured not out yet. It is the only Siroko who has this. But I have a clue why. I tracked down who rode that bike in period. At least down to 2 riders. Normally the standard monocoque is more bulbous. But one of the 2 riders in question who rode it is Mingo Gil(later 80ccm Autisa GP rider) and he is very short and slim. Could be that they have to built a slimmer monocoque for him and had to built in the second tank in the seat to have enough fuel on board. It is very difficult to find infos about Siroko. But I have tracked down Mingo Gil and asked him about the bike, just waiting for response. Only 8 Sirokos with TZ engines were built back then. 2 in 1978 with 250ccm, 2 improved ones in 1979 with 250ccm also(mine is a 79 one) and 3 with 250ccm and one with 350ccm in 1980. The 350ccm bike is at a collector in Germany. I know him well but he hadn't done any investigation in the brand Siroko so far. He bought the bike as his and mine were owned by a late friend of him since the mid 80tees. He then sold on the now mine to a guy I know well also. From this guy I now got or better said get it. I have done the agreement and paid it but will get in after my friend comes home from his holidays.
And yes, if I fit the bike I will do some parades next year. And on one or two occasions I will lent it to a guy to race it.
