Not many owners in the club ride showroom standard bikes.
Most ride mechanically sound bikes and are perfectly happy.
No members should think they have to restore showroom standards.

That's fair enough bud, the problems people get into are when you have restore/renew a knackered part, particularly if it's largely cosmetic, it tends to make the adjacent parts look cack

Then they have a dimemna of when to stop - and before you know it the bloody thing is in bits...

If it's a normal rider/survivor it's probably best not to restore any of it, and try to get any replacement parts as usuble secondhand ones to maintain the overall (I hate this term

) 'patina'.... Also unmolested survivors are where the money's going to be in the future anyway

If I ever get lucky to find an rider/unmolested survivor, I would leave it alone and enjoy it for what it is, trouble is all my resto's come out of skips and putting them back on the road in 'as new' condition is a buzz all in itself
