Title: God speed Paul Smart.
Post by: Captain Scarlet on November 15, 2021, 06:28:11 PM
Terrible to hear the news of the death of Paul Smart.
He was killed in a road collision while out on his motorbike in the East Sussex/Kent area.
All those years racing through some dangerous times to pass away at 78 just out for a ride.
Thoughts go out to Maggie,Scott and the family.

I had missed that sad news.  Paul Smart was regularly in the motorcycling press during the '70's and was a hard working and hard riding racer.
Condolences to all his family and friends.

RIP Small Part.
Also remembering riders of our youth, that have recently ducked under the final flag.
Yvon Duhamel.
Wes Cooley.
Great memories of the Trans-Atlantic series.

We went to the bike museum a few days after Steve Plater was introducing various people, McGuinness, Henry Cole etc and it was never mentioned. We met him at Chimay in Belgium and had a great chat with him about himself and Barry Sheene.  A week after we went to the museum we went to France and I bought the old bike magazine over there La Vie La Moto and there was a piece in that magazine all about him and his passing but if you haven't won Wimbledon or the Football League you don't get a mention in the UK.
