New Member - Oregon, USA

Long time rider - since 1977 or so. Started on an MX175 Yamaha in the dirt, and a 74(?) RD250 on the street. Many years and miles later still riding moto and street on a regular basis.

I just picked up a 77 RD400D that has 3925 original miles, and a resto done in 2014, after 30 years in a crate. Amazing bike and I will never sell it. I am almost done with a light mech and cosmetic overhaul and it will be street ready in June.

It will go into the garage with the 1979 RM125N I restored last year. That was my first real race bike in 1980, and now I have the RD to relive my first 2 rides.

We also have a number of other modern street and race bikes. We take motorcycles very seriously at my house. ;)

Thanks! I am particularly proud of the RM, as other than the pipe and shocks I did all the work myself, and it came out very well. It gets ridden a few times a year on really nice days, usually by my 15 year old.

The RD will get no more than 500 miles a year, and it will go, as will the RM, to my boy when I am too old to ride. 90 or so I expect. ;)

Ozhammer - I was actually a US Diplomat in Switzerland in the late 80s. I had a 88 Saleen Mustang when I lived there. :) Pretty damn close!
