has anyone had the silencers apart .half way down where the baffle sits there is a metal plate .if you shine a light down there looks like there is 4 holes are they blanks or should they be open.and where is the best place to buy new baffles is it with or with out wadding on them.

The baffles should have wadding on. Taking it off just makes it noisier and it’s not a nice noisier. It makes no difference to exhaust flow, if anything it creates turbulence at the stinger of the exhaust which isn’t good. It does breath to create the silencing so should be replaced periodically.

There was a teenage driven old wife’s tale in the 70’s stating it should be removed at the first free post running in service, that is complete boll@cks.
