Hi

Just had some touch up paint for my 1973 Brandy Red RD350 from www.rsbikepaint.com

The website worked just fine when I ordered on Sunday and I received the paint today (Tuesday).
Colour in the bottle looks spot-on, needed the clear gloss lacquer too to apply on top of base colour.
Too damn cold in the garage to try touching in but will do so when warm enough (for the paint, not me)

Hi lyonoso. Are you sure your 200 was/is Brigade Blue? afaik the 200E came in Candy Blue (Yamaha code 29)

The picture earlier in this thread of a 200 is Candy Blue I'm sure.

Btw just to confuse matters all these blues were candy finishes. ie translucent colour over fine silver base. Brigade Blue, Marine Blue and Candy Blue were just different colours but same process

Hi splant. They were actually a bit different. YR5 was Yamaha code 34 - Metallic Purple and Popsicle Purple was R6.

Just to confuse matters Metallic Purple was actually a candy finish (translucent purple over fine silver base) but there was a tiny amount of flake in the purple. I have full set of NOS tinware for my CS3B in this colour and only the gas tank has the flake in it strangely

Hi Fastash. Don't worry about it not being an RD. Plenty pre-RD RDs, like the R5 in the forum.

Anyway your colour code is 34 but that won't mean anything to a paint factor. If you are in USA best bet is Marbles Motors or someone like that as they do spray cans mail order in lots of the 70s candy finishes

the spelling of crystal silver / 20  changes quite a lot in this list is that deliberate or just typos   if typos what is the correct spelling as a spray shop im talking too are struggling to find it so the correct spelling
would be useful
Silver black 250 DX  pure
Yellow black 250/350 DX. Heinz 57

In the list it appears as Chrystal and Crystal and Chrstal but the paint code is 20 in each case so I reckon it's safe to say they are typos but I don't think that would matter if your spray shop can actually supply matchers to Yamaha colours as there is no mixing-database for them as such anyway.

Are they perhaps politely trying to fob you off?

I’m pretty sure the close equivalent is a Mercedes silver. A quick search using the search tool on here will  find it.
