The club pays for the bike Insurance/Tax and last year the DVLA dating money paid for the 350CC conversion.

I have done the last 3 MOTs free of charge compliments of Braishfield garage Ltd (this is where I work Saturdays doing MOTs) but that will not be possible this year due to hard times with the flooding. They need the money more than we do.

Problem is this year there are no spare funds in the club or the DVLA dating money.

The DVLA dating had a clear profit of £2462.49 but it got spent elsewhere, the membership fees just cover the printing and postage of Wellard so what with BMF, MAG and a few other expenses there is not much spare.

I have paid for minor parts like clutch cable and sundries and I try to use as little of the club funds as possible although the DVLA dating was set up to pay Project X expenses.
DVLA dating has made far more money for the club than any of us expected and this year things are changing, the DVLA dating money is being paid to a separate account and I will have a say on how it is spent in the future.

Next year I would like to do a twin front brake disk conversion using the DVLA dating money.


Problem is there are sections of the club that earn strong money for the club such as the Web-site/forum, Wellard, membership, DVLA dating and the rally but there are sections that spend a lot of club money with no return on the outlay.

I thought the club had somewhere in the region of £8000 in an account;  Is this incorrect??

Yes mate that's about correct.
Maybe closer to £9000 but back in September/October nobody knew how the membership would go and its done very well this year.
Remember Wellard costs £6000 a year and BMF and MAG cost a good few quid.
The club is doing well but there is not a lot of money spare to spend on the club bike but there will be next year as the DVLA dating money is paying for the upkeep and modifications.

This year I had no say on how the DVLA dating money was spent but next year I have.

Managed to finish it off today, Pipes fitted and run the engine up.
Sounds real nice but a little loud since we did the 350cc conversion.

I just hope it passes the MOT as I don't think I will be doing it this year.

Nice new exhaust gaskets fitted









All ready for the MOT but I will leave it until April as the first ride of the season will be Good Friday so I will get the MOT nearer that date.

I may even be able to MOT the bike myself by then with a lot of luck and hard work.
8 of my bike need MOTs as well and I have not paid for an MOT in 3 years

Paul, I have some spare high density material you can have to quieten it down - assuming the stingers can be re packed. Let me know if that's of interest.

I will ask Marnew, he made the pipes and they were not that loud when the bike was a 250.
I like it noisy but I don't ride it.

Still doing them mate but all the MOT equipment at the garage has gone and the garage is under 2ft of water.
I think at the earliest it will be a month before we are open.
I may go and work at another garage for a while but just negotiating that at the moment.

I have a few days work with all the MOTs I have lined up and I will work there for a few days to clear the backlog when its all sorted.

She went bust because you stopped visiting.

I have lost weight now and I reckon I am similar weight to Iccle Phil this week, not even been for a curry for 6 weeks.
I think the curry house will next to go if I don't start eating soon.

I can tell you its not been pleasant....
