Question for past or present GS550 owners.
« on: October 08, 2023, 04:02:34 PM »
Just thought I'd ask here before fannying around doing unnecessary work!

The rear wheel axle is directly in line with the original silencers. To remove the axle/rear wheel, do I first have to remove the left silencer, or will there be enough room by loosening the rear shocks and dropping the swing arm?

Thanks.

BITD we parked the bike at right angles to the road, blocking the pavement, with the rear wheel overhanging the road, removed the rear shocks. The wheel dropped and rested on the road and was well clear of the exhaust
Not that this helps

Thanks Motty!

That's perfectly logical and gives me possible workaround.  ;)

Better it happened now rather than on a ride. Better budget for new chain and sprockets while your at it.
