I no its not a RD but we saw this a couple of weeks ago in Slaidburn and thought the guy had done a great job of restoring it. The seat looks like it would be a bit painful after a couple of miles

Crankshaft mounted clutch, like early Yamahas.
There is a connection, as Yamaha bought Adler designs when the German company stopped making motorbikes.
