Donnington Park 28/8/21

Took my YR5 to the Classic Bike Trackdays event at Donnington, didn’t plan to but as per usual was let down by my useless four stroke.

Did all six sessions, bike didn’t miss a beat despite being quite noisy on the Chinese barrels currently installed, especially when cold. Only issue was running out of front brake adjustment by the end of the day, I really need to consider moving to a disc…

Short clip of final session -

For speed add lightness!

GSXR1100 - Big boy’s bike
GSXR400RKSP - Track / Race bike
YR5 - 52bhp - Ported RD barrels, 28mm carbs, Mick Abbey pipes, Powerdynamo with Zeeltronic DC controller, premix, Euro CR 6 speed box.
GT200X5 - Bog standard.

Yes, I think you have proved the Yamaha TLS can work well!  Probably few have had them brake so fast and hard since the '70's!  :)
Overall though, the early Yam RD/TZ Disc is a good bit of kit if done properly and will be a great upgrade!
