Well done John  love an H2 but need a purple one      how is x starting from cold ?

No better

Once its bumped it'll start easily all day. 

Will start on the kicker after bumping even if it only half catches and doesn't start

Won't start on the kicker even when very hot if headlight is on - I suspect the battery isn't man enough for the aftermarket electronic ignition

Indicators won't work with engine running and headlight on

X should run with no battery as its electronic ignition, no power needed in the battery to start it.
I must admit I have never used it with the lights on.

Yes but it will blow the genny unless you put a load on the              system

I have newtronics fitted to my 400.

It will not start on kicker unless battery has good charge in it. Spent over a year riding with a duff battery that went flat in a couple of days.
When I plan to ride it I had to connect charger to it the day before to give it that start up kick. Rest of day it would start fine

That was a new battery on there and I had it on the optimiser all winter with my batteries.
I find project X battery will run down if not charged for a week, im wondering if its losing some power somewhere but it cant be the ignition using the battery power when stood up as its wired to the ignition side so its off until the ignition is turned on.

Wriring wizards special drains it,s battery he has put an isolator in the battery + line  that automaticaly cuts of when you switch the ignition off , and you have to press it to get the power on again

Paul Cornforth (Hazey) had charged the battery up too, to no avail

However, yesterday (having not used it for 4 days) and again today, I actually managed to start it from cold on the kicker; 4th attempt approx

Full choke with a little throttle seems to be what it wants, plus a healthy kick

Previously had no joy with:
- full choke and no throttle or 
- no choke and a little throttle

I always thought opening the throttle with this type of choke negated the choke 

Having said that, my 400 was like that till I had it rebored, then it started easily

Most strokers seem to need a knack - possibly because they are not used daily, unlike back in the day; a combination of lack of use and not having learned the knack due to not using it every day perhaps

I could not live with X for long  although does crackle nice once going  as my 400 always starts first or second kick,after a prime slow kick. cold with choke no throttle,hot no choke no throttle,flat battery or full,only time shes been trouble is CRAP fuel just lately

Anyone checked to see if the link pipe between the carbs is in place?
