I cleaned this up with a random orbital sander using 50 grit-120 then 220.

Ok, as it’s pertinent to the topic, I put the pad in back to front (obviously I know the difference between front and back but I’m not going to go into detail as to why and how it happened - it just did…)

So the upshot is, the back of the pad is softer than the disk and most of what felt like scoring is in fact deposits left by the backing of the pad. So, I guess removing them wouldn’t be too much of an issue. I can scrape big pieces of it quite easily.

I’m figuring with a bit effort with a scraper and some fine paper I should be able to get it back to serviceable.

Aircooled RD Tech Help 250cc and Above / Skimming rear brake disk

I’ve scored the rear brake disk on my RD250D - I’m pleading the 5th amendment on how .

It’s 7.4mm thick at the mo and I’m wondering if there is any reason I can’t have it skimmed back to smooth?

False economy or cost effective solution?

Does anyone know if they can be replaced, re worked to take another cap ( not to bothered about original looks), or any leads of who vacant help?
Thanks

I picked up a refurb. crank from his house £220 exchange. Nice guy. I had some decals that were faulty, he just replaced them no hassel.

Agreed, no problems dealing with Norbo. Its an old fashioned process but works well, product usually very good, and he posts quickly.

Always had good service from him.

I email him a list of what I’d like and where to and he quotes a price including shipping. Pay via PayPal and he sends it… very straight forward.
