2020 Chippy Run.
« on: April 11, 2020, 12:11:46 AM »
The 2019 Chippy Run was not liked by many.  I had to send my Daughter out of the Ashbourne Chip Shop to stop her hearing crap about Myself and the choice of route, What some folk don't realise is the time that is put into the planning and riding over these rideouts  that is a personal expense, not paid from club money.

That said, I hope the Rally and the Rdeouts are still on after COVID19.

Happy to lead my usual Friends, and Kens.

You cant please everyone. Just ride and if they don't like your route they can go there own way. Simple. I did not go on the chippy run last year but I always enjoyed the others you did.

Your route was possibly challenging to some and you have to remember that a lot of these show ponies are not actually (riden) the ride was fine for me and the others in our group so thumbs up from me👍👍.As you said, it takes a lot of time and effort to do this sort of thing.Something others do not appreciate. The choice is go your way or go their own simples😏you can’t please everyone.Carry on the good work😁😁

Thank You for the comments,  I expected worse.

If the Rally is still on, after the lock down, a slightly modified 2018 route should do the job.

I have been doing the Good Friday New Forest run for 12 years and I don't even change the route now, its perfect and when I did try and changed it the others didn't like it so its simple now, same route, same stops with the same people. We just love to ride. You need to come down and try it sometime Simmo. I have room on the drive for the pikey van as well. :D

You are lucky it was cancelled this year. We were considering stopping at yours for a cuppa as Compton Abbas is always so busy.

I'll tea up (boom boom!) Gr8auntiepat for next time then - maybe you could write me up 3 (4 if you include the Suzi GT550) dating certificates while you're here!  :D :D :D

There's always the clubhouse at Rushmore Golf Club (I'm an ex-member but still frequent visitor and Gr8auntiepat is a VERY keen member) - I'd love to see the golfers waiting for the haze to clear before they can tee off from the first and third! :o :o :o :D :D :D

Hope you're recuperation is going well.

Alan

Sorry, thought you were having an op and in a previous post mentioned taking some sort of drugs. That'll be me adding 2+2 and getting 22 then!

I am waiting for an op but that's been cancelled for the a good while thank god, the drug is a immune suppressant so I cant go out in case I get it but I am fit and well. I cant imagine what would of happened if I was in hospital when all this kicked off. The op will be a good few months away now.

22 it is then!

Although, of course, if the timings work out bad, then you might miss a couple of Good Friday runs.  :o :o :o

Last night, I went to sit outside for a quiet beer and some nibbles after a productive day in the garage and, lo and behold (if you'll excuse the pun), as soon as I sit down, the chuffing vicar starts an outside broadcast service (our house backs on to the church)!  :o The wicked side of me was tempted to stick some Black Sabbath on with the window open (shame on you for even thinking about it Al  ;D).

Why nit start the bike up and give it a good rev up....

RD400 with spannies would have been a great soundtrack to his service - don't doubt that it didn't cross my mind!  ;)
