Part of the planned Friday Chippy Route is closed due to a rock fall.   :(

Will have to re-use part of last years route.

Sadly the "tunnel" is off the Chippy run for this year.  I did a test run this evening (Saturday) and the road to and from the tunnel (but not the tunnel itself) has been tar sprayed and covered in loose stone chips.

I need to plan and test ride a new route within 5 days or just wing it on the day. :-\

Another case of money saving rather than do the job properly :o i bet if they got hundreds of claims for damaged paintwork or accidents they would stop doing it :-\

councils rarely payout , they put such a mountain of crap in your way that it needs a solicitor to claim , and that would cost ya more than the repair, I knackered a wheel and tyre on my fiesta van last year. went into the claim thing and gave up . luckily got a new wheel and tyre off a local garage for £25, it was a spare never used in a fiesta they had scrapped
If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around

Rideout setting off at 6pm Friday from Derby Rugby club.  I shall make time to run over the new route and will post route times and details in next few days.  There are no fuel stops so fill up before the run.  Looking at 50 miles there and back.
I will have my Daughter on the pillion on our RD 200 so will not be a fast ride.

Need volunteers to block traffic at roundabout at start of rideout.    8)

Took the car for a spin over the new route today.  Here follows the key meeting points:-

 6.00pm start at Rally field.

6.25pm King Street junction with the A6 at Duffield.

6.30 Blue Bell Pub, Farnah Green.

6,40 The Bear Pub near Alderwalsey.

6.45 The Hope and Anchor Pub at Wirksworth.

6.55 The Knockerdown Pub near Carsington Water.

 7.05 Ashbourne and Chips!

These times were achieved on empty roads with no rideout behind.  We may be a little later than the times posted but not
 earlier.  :)

Still needing a volunteer to circle around the traffic island on the A 61, just off the Rally Site, to block the traffic so we can
 all cross over together.

Always done it in the Alyesbury bus tunnel - everyone jumped and looked.  Fantastic memories.

Memories yes.  Aylesbury bus tunnel gone now.  :'(
