Title: 2020 Aircooled RD Club Rally Update - By the Events Coordinator.
Post by: RobinM on May 26, 2020, 09:02:08 PM
Events Coordinator Rally Statement on 26th May 2020.

Our Club Committee believe it only fair to update all interested parties on what we know of the Rally position at present.
I am writing this brief update from my own perspective as Events Coordinator.
(It is not necessarily the whole committee's opinion)
At present the Rally venue is still booked for the 10th, 11th and 12th of July and DRFC say it can go ahead if at all possible. Having said that, it will not be following the normal format as advertised. What the format will be has not yet been finalised as there are too many unknowns to decide the final restricted details, until very close to the date.
All government guidelines in force at the time of the Rally must be adhered to by all of us.
We do not know what the guidelines will be at the time of writing.
Unfortunately, I believe live entertainment will have to be cancelled.
I intend to update the Rally details for the "Events Tab" on the Website as soon as I know anything more definite.
Please be patient, I will post the next update on this forum on the 15th of June 2020.

General advice, what ever your intentions - It may not be wise to make non refundable bookings of any sort for this event in case future circumstances make it not possible to honour those bookings for what ever reason.

All the best and hope to see plenty of you all soon, Robin - Events Coordinator.
(Sorry but I generally don't use this forum so if there is something that you can't wait to know, please text me on 07806 572669 and I will reply when I'm not on the road, at work or asleep!)

Thank you for the update Robin.
Everything seems so uncertain at the moment, hopefully in a few weeks it will become clearer if the virus is receding or coming back for a second wave.

If the Rugby Club says it is ok, count me in.

Should the lockdown continue I will still do the Friday chippy run from the Derby Rugby Club , with no chips, at the usual time. 6pm.

Excellent !
But if it does go ahead you could slightly change them to "tried to steal our rally." in defiance. ;)

Simmo, I had a ride to Ashbourne on Tuesday evening. The chippy is open! 😊
Me and my mate sat outside and had a bag of chips with a can of beer that we’d taken with us.
It shut at 8pm.

Chippy" Isolation Rideout" has 6 bikes interested in joining the ride so far.  anyone else interested?

It is an open invitation,  all welcome.

UPDATE....Due to the Rally being moved to August the Chippy "Isolation Rideout" will move with it.

I have done the route recently, 43 miles to Ashbourne and 18 miles back to Derby.
