Replace crank seal on Suzuki T20

To replace the left crank seal, is it better to replace it in place or split the engine?

Depends if it has a ridge around it. No ridge and it should pull out ok. Never done that myself though, always stripped an engine.

tore:
There are two metal clips held by screws. Those holds the seal in place.


Maybe not such a good idea to relace it without splitting the cases.

tractorman:
Looks like it should be possible then. Why not give it a go if the rest of the engine is sound.
