RD200DX 1980 Wiring to/from Battery
« on: November 24, 2022, 01:22:04 PM »
Hi All, could someone please check and send me a photo of the positive and negative wires leading to/from their battery in the vicinity of the battery box. On mine there are no bullet connectors near the battery which means that to remove the battery, from the bike, I have to undo the positive wire from at the battery post and remove the negative lead from where it attaches to the frame, before I can slide the battery out sideways. Is this how it is supposed to be from new? My Yam' LS2 100cc has bullet connectors, in the wires near the battery, which makes battery removal easier and quicker. Thank you, Gavin

If the weather relents, I might be able to have a peek at our DX. However, for as long as I can remember, I have removed the battery by sliding it out slightly, undoing the positive lead, sliding it out a bit further and undoing the negative lead. No guarantee that I've not been doing it wrong, mind! :o ::) :D

Thank you. It is not a major hassle but I find my other old Yam much more convenient in this respect. Not a big job to fit some inline bullet connectors but I don't want to do this if it was not what Yam had done originally. Thanks, Gavin
