Not taboo Ady, probably no-one had anything helpful to offer!

My own thought would be to look at what other models shared that part (use CMSNL and Partzilla) and maybe search for parts under those models. If the XS bikes used it, then maybe the XS shop in Germany or MikesXS in the US might offer new repro parts.

Is the 5/8 rear master cylinder a taboo subject?

By the way, I’ve unsiezed my rear master cylinder and will begin its overhaul with an overhaul kit from Yambits.  Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞

The rim sits centralised to the hub centre /spoke races. Is there really anything else to say?

Thank Al , want to paint it or powder coat , but could possibly paint it with some masking . Maybe a new barrel if I can get one as this one open with a screwdriver

Thanks Tore , that makes sense I think I can see that inside but didn’t know how to get to it , either way think I can get what I need from both answers, many thanks one again .

I masked the color back from the filler and petcock a bit (maybe ~1/8"), then put the 2K clear all the way to the filler neck and petcock o-ring area. So far, even the place on the bottom (behind the seam) that had a pinhole AFTER painting (POR15 lining took care of the leak) has not shown evidence of fuel getting under the clear to the color (the color is water borne, so NOT fuel safe at all!)

Not sure about this particular lock but others are fixed with an additional spring loaded tumbler at the end. Reachable through the key hole.

Bit of a lazy answer Mally (sorry!), but I'm lucky enough to have a good master locksmith, who's into these old bikes, close enough to drive to. I'd therefore just ask him to do it for me.

What are looking to take it apart for?
