Is it still possible to purchase carbon brushes for 400 D ?

Are those different. The + and - brush are different though. Can not find a specific number for the UK version

Yambits do the carbon brushes, but not the base plate that they need soldering to.

Part numbers for UK/European models are 1A0-81611-10 (positive brush) and 1A0-81612-10 (negative).

We got the Hitachi generators and this is denoted by the -10 at the end of the part number. North America got Mitsubishi and this is denoted by -20 at the end.

You're in luck, CMSNL appear to have 2 in stock of each.

What you have to do is go onto the CMSNL website, select Yamaha, then select motorbikes and then type in the part numbers above into their top search field - don't use the menu for models, as this only brings up the US ones.

I'm assuming that you have a UK bike?!  :D :D :D

I pretty sure the Yambits brushes need cutting/rubbing down, you can buy brushes on Ebay of every shape & size at a fraction of the cost.
