just joined the AC club, quick intro
« on: October 09, 2019, 09:20:27 PM »
Hi,
I've been on the forum for a few weeks and thought it time to pay up to join the club given how much time and effort goes into providing such a great forum.

I bought my RD250d a few weeks ago and already have a DT175 which is completely original having been in a barn for about 30 years of its 39 yr life. Thoroughly recommend getting a DT, wot a laugh!
I always wanted an LC but somehow the ACs now more  appealing (lots of noise and blue smoke had something to do with it i guess)

Now Im busy trying to get this RD into shape and put some miles on it before winter but not having much luck. Daren't go too far on it yet as keep finding problems, today the throttle cable snapped!
It was rebuilt 5 yrs ago and has allegedly not even been run in yet. So hopefully engine is strong and the frame and silver paintwork are great. Already had NSRNick rebuild the brakes, I was a fully trained up mechanic about 30 yrs ago so could try most things myself but where people like Nick are super expert, better to pay for that experience and quality

Had various small Yamaha 2 strokes starting with the obligatory fizzy. And then once test was passed bigger Kawasakis and a GS550 I lightly restored. After an accident, had a break from bikes for 20 years but always had 2 stroke in my nostrils so now Im here!

cameras weren't invented then  :)  Gutted but I actually dont have a single bike photo from back then! I'll try to take a couple of the current bikes over the weekend
Any chance I can get a copy of the last WellaRD mag?

Cheers
