New Member from Wisconsin
« on: September 07, 2019, 03:38:49 PM »
Hello all!  New member here from Wisconsin looking to restore my RD250.  I'm planning on making it into a TZ250 replica - for lack of a better term.  The frame and motor are complete, but the bike is missing too many parts (bits to you guys :D) to do a complete restoration.  My dad and uncle raced a privateer TZ250 when I was a kid and the nostalgia bug bit me.  I'd like to surprise him with it by his next birthday.  He still rides a bit even though he's in his 70's, and I'd like for him to be able take it for a spin.  I raced a lot of motocross in my day, and while I stunk at racing I was a pretty decent mechanic and wrenched for a few A-class riders.  However, this beast is a bit different and I do have questions.  I'll do my searches, but expect to hear more from me!

Have a dig into the Restoration Section, there has been a few builds similar to yours over the years.

Where about?  I'm in the Madison area.  Good to know there's locals in case I really ball this thing up!

I live just north of Lake Winnebago in Harrison. There's a guy in chippewa Falls who is great with RDs and can help with anything you need. He helped me big time with my resto 400 project.

He built a TZ350 replica from a RD350LC bottom end, TR3 frame, and TZ750 barrels. It's beautiful.
