Not a Yam nor a 2stroke (sorry)
« on: December 11, 2018, 09:02:35 PM »
Restored this in 2013,my mate PJ(Paul Leslie) rebuilt the engine for me,sounds beautiful and runs sweet,to be honest it was doddle to restore much easier than my 400c.The Z1 parts are easier to source and the pattern parts you get are spot on and fit unlike a lot of the rd bits.

I am Colin love the z1"s,when i traded my Blue 75 rd250  for my first 400c in 76 i wanted a z1 then but couldn"t afford it,the yam was £660 on the road the later z900 was double that so a no brainer really but can"t say i was disapponted  having the 400c i loved it.Had to wait till 2011 to realise my dream now i have 2 happy days. The zeds are the only ones i have left from this lot pic was in 2014 .Still got these 2 so life"s not too bad.

Yep full power Model vboost removed,k&ns with stage 7 dynojet kit fitted changed the standard pipes for Laser Pro stocks it sounded evil , it was fast very fast, vmaxes you either love them or hate them ,personally i thought it was a great bike and i gave it a lot of stick and thought handling was ok for a big heavy bike even on the twisty bits, wish i still had it,.Only thing i did"t like about it was the black painted engine,a very very big black painted engine a pain to keep looking good, yep sold it and now have another Yam with a black engine, mmmhhhh maybe i do like them really. :D
