Wow what a machine! first good ride on the X5 and its as quick as my old RD250 to 70 mph
120 miles today stopped at the local on the way home, but on the way it started playing up? cut out
3 miles from home didn't fancy pushing it so had a smoke and it started again,got home and found the
inline filter i'd fitted had done the job, new filter on the left

Yep sure has,cleaned the old one and put it in the took kit holder ready for the next thrash

Gona cut the down pipes down where they go in to the silencer ! did that on my RD200 last year and it made a HUGE difference to the performance
Only got the X5 for my old man to ride when he comes over, there's a post somewhere but cant find it now,but it is a cool quick bike though
i remember back in the day a mate up the rd had one and everybody took the mick but this X5 is way quicker than the RD200

I like those X5s. Can you not modify some RD200 pipes to fit?

I love my X5 but they are not an engine that responds well to tuning. There isn't much scope for porting due to the one piece cylinder block. Also the big ends are a weak point even on a stock engine. You can get them to run on pod filters reasonably well though which eases the breathing slightly at the expense of a few BHP in the midrange.
Yes I am this abrupt in real life but I don't lie or talk sh*t so live with it.
