Rd125dx 2r6 couple of questions
« on: June 07, 2018, 07:58:59 PM »
As I've been turning my attention back to the rd I have a fair few loose ends to tie up...

Firstly, does the 2r6 ignition barrel decal have four dots at the top like in the picture?

Does anyone know of a replacement throttle cable that works OK?

I'd also like to source e11 frame decals but can't see them listed for the 125, are they the same as the 200?

Any recommendations for  trusted painters?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Buddy,
Can't help you with the decal but I'd be scouring any images I could find of original bikes to see what it had. Having said that there's got to be a 125 owner on here who can respond, surely.

Likewise for the cable but I've had good pattern cables from Wemoto for my 200. Another (pricier) option if you have the original is to send it to Venhill who can replicate it.

E11 decal - don't know again but some companies can replicate original decals but are usually costly for one offs.

I'll pm you regarding a painter.
Sorry not very helpful but I find when nobody responds it's nice to know at least somebody is interested.

Mine is an earlier model Rd125 as per pic, havnt stuck 125 badges on yet, key switch is 4 position as per photo 2. I would assume yours is the same if a uk or european model.

watch out for cables, had a lot off hassle with mine from wemoto, particularly oil pump inner cable length, In the end I gave up, bought the bits and made my own. Carrot Cycles have a good range of cable stuff. Or as mentioned and if you have the original get it made up by them or venhill, more expensive yes but worth it! pay particular note the the throttle end bracket at the twist grip end, different types and designs.

Thanks, really appreciate your input. I have located one but it's silly money, I think if I can't get an original then I'll get one made up. I have a throttle cable but it has no oil pump cable attached and I'm not sure if original. Thanks again

Must say that's a beauty you have there, Barnett.
Just love these early models - they look so classic early 70's and would love to own one.
Oh well... maybe one day 8)
