All Ready to go
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:56:38 PM »
Project X has been in the workshop today.

I decided to service it ready for the summer (With the help of Alfie of course)

So we had a look at the bike before we start.

Alfie Decided we should start by checking the tyres so we got the airline out.

I think this is going to take some time.

Tyres done now time to dump the oil out.

It did not lose that much at fowlers, I took 1.1 litres out and it only hold 1.5 litres from a dry engine.

Filled up with fresh oil then I changed the plugs and air filter.

Then re-fitted the battery thats been on the optimiser all winter.

We needed a tool kit and now we have a spare set of plugs I decided to go through my tools to see what I had spare.
Here is a reversible screwdriver, plug spanner, pliers and a muli-tool with allum keys and some tie wraps.
Anyone got a tool bag going spare?
Theres also a stand puck I pinched from OldRDuser at the rally last year. (dont tell him)

Then popped up the garage for some petrol (I drained it out before it went to Fowlers.)

Then second kick we were off.

Then it was time to adjust the chain, oil/grease up and a good polish and fit the mirrors.

Next is the MOT and I want to try and fit a new steering lock.

I donated the service parts (Norbo did me a good discount, thanks Norb) and the tool kit to project X
Seeing as I did most of the miles on it last year.

Next for Project X is The Thundersprint there Danny Webb will be riding it then its off to Scotland with RDjock then down to Johnny (Gary Shipley) in Lincolnshire so this summer it will be up north.

I will also MOT it in the next few weeks.
Thats not going to cost the club anything either as I can do it for nothing at the garage i do my MOTs at on Saturdays.

Did you keep that oil for me?

Thundersprint is two and a half months away. Any plans to fill that time with some other events

I was thinking about that and wondered if any local members to me wanted to do a few bike nights/shows.
I can do Poole Quay and New forest bike night but if someone else wants to take it we can arrange something.
To be honest its in my way now, I will need it back for the MOT or I can do it now but its not due until may.
I planned on doing it in April.

It will need to be returned to me before the thundersprint cleaned and ready to go.

Dont forget Paul let me know when its Road Tax is due and I"ll pay it for this year.

Dave.
Bikers check the weather in the morning to see if they're gonna ride. Motorcyclist only check the weather to see what were gonna wear.

Does your airline leak now ?

is that your new dog paul, i thought you"d get another, he looks really cute and mischevious, i would"ve enjoyed stewardship of Project X for a while but sadly I just don"t have any room in my psychiatric bunker. it is just stuffed.

There was someone in the pub last night with a white labradoodle, A lovely soppy mutt, Alison a member of the quiz team was looking longingly at it and said she wanted one, I had get the i phone out and show her Alfie as well, dont worry Paul she will not be dognapping Alfie cos i did not tell her where you lived
