Good to find this site. Just bought a RS200 that needs tlc. Would love a YL1 one day (my real favourite). Further to the comments about no:4. I was told a different story. 4 is represented by a table; the stability of 4 legs. This stability was considered unlucky for a dynamic company like Yamaha that was prepared to change quickly with fashion. I had a late YDS3 (YDS5 style tank) registered as YDS4. Unlucky! It broke down so often I daren"t ride it beyond easy pushing distance! Has anyone got the single saddle for an RS? Hello and best wishes to all, Vic.

Hi just bought a CS5E, but short of a few bits. I"m still going through the box of bits that came with it - no clutch lever but three brake levers, that sort of thing. As soon as I know what I"m short off I"ll post a shopping list. I"ll have some spares to offer in return.

Please PM me with any tempting offers for the bike as we are not sure whether to restore it ourselves at the minute?!

Cheers

Just for updating the list, I"ve had a local Yamaha guy confirm my Australian "74 RD200 with prefix 585 is an RD200B. It"s orig colour is "high sparkle blue".

I have the same question re my old N plate. It had the single black pinstripe with outer narrow white borders.
Seemed like a good idea at the time..........

That picture is the same model as mine.
According to http://myrd200site.com the Vin Numbers for the RD200A started with 397-010101 for North America, and 397-110101 for Europe. The Vin Numbers for the RD200B started with 397-200101.
Makes mine an A, it was U.K. registered in 1975.
It wasn't me!
