Title: RD Database
Post by: foggie on November 02, 2008, 12:28:58 PM
I have updated the RD Database to include owners information e-mailed to me @ 18/11/08.

Hopefully we will end up with a list of live RD"s and make it easier for new members to search for information on their bikes.

This is the first 4 webpages ONLY from the site converted to a database. It also includes members who have e-mailed their bike registrations. It"s a continual work in progress.

Any RD owners who want there RD included, please forward your RD registration number and bike condition/comments to me. I will pull the balance of information from the DVLA database.

I don"t need anything more, just your registration number.

I"m not sure how to include overseas RD"s, but again forward your details. However, I have no access to you licencing system databases.

The database is sorted by registration number.

Let me know if there are any improvements.

Hi Foggie,

Only just seen this thread, well done, a great idea.

My mono project is a 250E frame reg XBL 181T, but will be registered as a 400e when it"s finished. It will be white/red. My old 400f is Q222 CGY, owned by my good friend Joe Reynolds, is also red/white, roadworthy, but I think is sorned at the mo.

Regards

Dusty

Keith,

That would make you the first none UK bike listed!

Can you also supply a brief note on its condition - is it rideable?

Do you have an equivilant of our Driving Vehicle Licensing (DVLA) website where you can check VIN numbers?

Thanks

Gary

Just a thought - would it not be wise to seperate the list into "Bikes that are known to exist today"

and

"Nostalgic RD"s now sold and lost"

Its just that I see that I appear on the list twice..

KMW 445P was my bike but I sold it in 1976 (it was a RD250A back then)

I could add a fair few more RD"s to a list of "lost/nostalgic" bikes and expect a fair few others could as well

Reg numbers from old photos.....

KVA 82P (RD350 - mate from works photo)

RMR 844S (my long sold RD400)

UMW 761T (my RD200DX - sold earlier this year to a non member.)

RUL 211L (YR5 - Staffs show jumble)

NDY 479R (Staffs show jumble)

Just a quick point about SORN. I got the v5 in my name a couple of months ago, this was just for the frame, totally in bits, didn"t consider sorn until today. Did it online, warning came up about vehicle being unlicensed since feb 08, and that it would be investigated. Gave them a ring, got to write to them and prove it"s been in bits. So PLEASE check its on SORN or you will be liable for any back duty when you eventually come to tax it

ITS REG IS "WKK 347S", IT IS ROAD LEGAL AND USED WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING.

Hi Foggie,

Great to see all these bikes listed - just a shame more arent still licensed. I do have a question though about the data for "colour at registration". I was the second owner of LLE358V a White and Red RD400E. I bought this from a friend and I know that the bike was bought White and Red, it wasn"t Yellow. I part ex"ed this 400 for my 350LC and all though I loved the 350 I would still like to have that 400 now Likewise when I bought my 350LC - CJJ902W it was nearly new. It was in Mars Bar colours and again I"m pretty sure it wasn"t White when registered. Where does that info come from (I assume the DVLA?).

Ill have an "A" plated RD80MX to add to the list soon, I just cant remember the number. Great job mate,

Regards,

Russ

Foggie,

I knew there was something else I wanted to mention. I bumped into a friend who bought my RD250F (RVX560W)from me in 1981. He told me that the bike was stolen from him and the thief had been caught . Sadly the bike had been stripped and sold as spares, so I dont know if that 250 should be removed from the list now?

Russ

Also I have just acquired an RD400 Registration UEH 179 R registered 17.6.77 and according the the document was Red (although now painted some terrible blue).

On the log book it says frame and engine numbers are 004645 so can someone tell me which model this is as I cant see these numbers on the list on the other page?

Happy for mine to be put on the list RD250C Royal Blue reg no OML 486R. Has recent re-bore and sympathetic rebuild when I bought it in August and my intention is to fully restore it over time. Currently a working weekend warrior to get another 460 miles on it to make a good 1k run in, Unless anyone thinks that's a bit excessive? Right hand pot and exhaust running rich with solid backfiring. So this weekend fettering trying to recall how I coped as a 17yr old on my similar RD250D reg no SRX 637S sadly not heard of since01Apr82. I part-xd it a year or so before for a Ducati Pantah 500SL.

Its currently under a revamp so should be better soon.

Its a general interest voluntary sort of thing. Members enter reg numbers of bikes they have or bikes they had back in the 70's.
Some bikes are long dead though. Some bikes were seen in photos - road test bikes from mags

I've recently bought KEA153V, a Blue RD200DX of 1979 vintage. It's in excellent all round condition (see photo), all I've done is buy a new battery for it and a pair of mirrors. It starts on the button and runs great. I don't know a great deal about its former life, but it appears to have been restored in 2012 as I have a hand written list of the work done on the back of an old MOT certificate. If you recognise the bike as a former owner, I'd love to hear from you about its time in your hands.

Does the RD database still exist ? And if it does where can it be viewed ?

I keep seeing all these bike details being posted looking for their bikes but I have never seen the fully compiled list anywhere, where does all the info go from people who post details of what bikes they have.

I would like to see the list sorted in registration number order where people could check themselves for the bike that they are looking for.

Title: Re: RD Database
Post by: NIRD on May 01, 2017, 10:21:58 PM
No stukey, I'm not looking for my old bike as it is not on the DVLA database.

I'ts just that all I see is members replying to this post with all their bikes and the reg numbers of ones they currently own.
So somebody somewhere must be recording them on the RD Database or maybe they're not.

It would be nice if they were still being recorded as it would be easier for people to search for their old bike.
The way it is, there doesn't seem to be any order to it, people put down they are looking for their bike and the reg number could be anywhere in their message.
I think the first thing that should be on your message looking for your bike is the reg number.

I hope you see what I mean.

Title: Re: RD Database
Post by: NIRD on May 01, 2017, 10:33:02 PM
I have updated the RD Database to include owners information e-mailed to me @ 18/11/08.

Hopefully we will end up with a list of live RD"s and make it easier for new members to search for information on their bikes.

This is the first 4 webpages ONLY from the site converted to a database. It also includes members who have e-mailed their bike registrations. It"s a continual work in progress.

The database is sorted by registration number.

An updated version of this list would be really nice.
