A rare occurrence! I’m pretty sure RDJock had a pair as part of a full system a while back, and I think at the time the view was £500+ for NOS (2R9) downpipes

 Gaskets crush a wee bit ( cork ones crush a lot ) and if your gasket surfaces are either damaged or uneven  a gasket can take that up  . Some sealants are also  a good gap filler , but it needs to be a filling type , any old shit wont work ( roofing silicone )
 . Its one of them things  , do what you like , personally  I would put sealant on a gasket  if it was a bast@rd to get at , you don't want to be pulling something 1/2 to bits again for want of a bit of claggy, but then I wouldn't put it on a head gasket :-\

After obtaining several pairs of used 2R9 downpipes with the intention of rechroming them, I have a possible opportunity to buy a NOS pair, so would appreciate some advice on what they would likely cost to buy in the UK when they come up. That way I can hopefully work out a fair deal with the seller.

My RD125B has the Teikei carbs, same model as photo below. The left side is misfiring and burbling cold air out the pipe at idle. I can't feel it missing as I turn the throttle and get higher up the circuit. I pulled the carbs and checked the numbers. The PO had #50 left side and #55 right side pilot jets installed?? Stock is #44. I purchased these and put them in but I still have the same issue with misfire. I took apart the choke mechanism and added a new o-ring. The main jets are correct #94. The timing is set dead on. The bore is one size over 600 miles ago. I thought it might be the battery but the guy at the battery store checked it and said it was putting out to spec, so I didn't get a new battery and i reinstalled.

Let me know what's next step would be for trouble shooting this issue. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you LexPaul

OK, so a thin layer of 1211 on both sides gets her done? I'm totally cool with that, but my mind goes straight to, why use a gasket at all?
 My gaskets are from Vesra, made in Japan...

For the record, I'm talking about the clutch side cover on a Daytona. There's obviously two camps on this topic. I have two Daytonas. My reason for inquiring is that the runner has visable sealant on the connection and the one I'm rebuilding had none. I believe I'll just go without any goo and see what happens. Thanks to all!

very tidy and not messed around with. I can see the difference in the tail light and headlight rim. They are nice little bikes to ride, not quick, a smidge over 60mph, but very comfy and good handling.

I use  elcheapo artist paint brushes ( $2 shop crap ) to paint on sealant in a thin  even layer . 3bond is good as even when touch dry  it can still be liquid enough to seal when assembled in 20 mins so you don't have to rush  , also  you will save enough  sealant to pay for the brush ( just chuck it out ) :)
