Aircooled RD Tech Help 250cc and Above / Re: USA RD350 SEALED BEAM HEADLAMP

Hello

Regarding the Yambits headlamp, it says on their site that  "Please note this unit only fits headlight rims that require 'W' clips, it is not suitable for models that have an adjuster system."
So are you saying it will fit my USA spec bike with its adjuster system if I used W clips to hold it in the rim?

If so it would be a better idea than mine  :'(

Quick update,

Got the bike back from Tony who had dismantled the carbs cleaned and put back on and bike running again.
Then had to wait a couple of months while all the panels and tank were resprayed, got all excited on Tuesday when I got the bike together filled the tank will petrol and of I went. Got a mile up the road and the temperature gauge hit the red took it back home, checked the wire to the temp sensor cleaned and put back on, checked the gearbox oil topped that up went back out and was back after 2 mins with the temp gauge showing in the red, also the black oil which came out of the exhausts and covered the rear end. On the yambit site to order a new sensor and thermostat hopefully they arrive Saturday so I can put them on and see if it resolves the over heating. Then it’s booked in next week at Krazy Katt to run on the dyno to see if he can find the reason it’s running a rich mixture.

Exactly that. My Uncle did it today and all up and running now and will book an MOT.
Many thanks for all the help provided.

If you have an import that does need an MoT, does it have to pass or just be submitted?

Pass    or is it a trick question?

It may be worth checking the front exhaust downpipes. I have heard a few comments that on European bikes they had longer front pipes with a restrictor in them. Much longer than UK ones. If so they can be cut down to improve performance. I think Crip may have mentioned this. Easy to check anyway, the pipe should end about an inch into the silencer.
Failing that, eat fewer pies.  ;D

I'll give that a check but I would have thought it was affect it obtaining high revs in all gears which it freely does in the lower gears, it just seems to struggle a bit in fourth and a lot in fifth.
Or am I wrong in my assumptions and it will only affect it when under most load?

I were running with a poor adjustment on the oil-pump. Seized the right cylinder briefly and got some piston slap. Wondered if the bearings survive such punishment. The top and bottom end bearings seems be in good shape.
