My Long Term Project
« on: April 10, 2014, 11:25:43 PM »
I have just started this RD400 project, I had a YDS7 / RD400 / and Several LC's over the years but I wanted to update a RD400 and give the engine a bit more pep. I started out with a pair of crankcases and a frame, the plan is for USD Forks, modern wheels and swing arm, updated motor but to retain the looks.

Certainly a project, please post updates as you progress.

Have you had a look at some of the "Specials" in the Restoration Section?

Mines a bit similar and another long term project. Started with the forks that were originally going into my 400 but decided it was to good to muck it about. A friend at Stafford last April sold me a frame and engine with a v5 and I've collected bits over the year. This is it so far.....

Like me still got some way to go then! If you need some inspiration try reading this http://www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=17153.0 it's what I would want mine to end up like.

Couldn't ask a favour could you measure from the top shock mount to the rear wheel spindle, trying to get the "look" just right.
